Upon graduating high school I was undecided. A career in Massage Therapy or something else. After a meeting with a well meaning guidance counsellor I began my educational journey with completion of a 3 year Computer Programmer/Analyst program. Although interesting, it was not the right fit for me. After working in the residential electrical field for 3 years I changed course again and settled into a career of Child and Youth work. I enjoyed helping children and their families for nearly 9 years, however I would eventually come full circle. 10 years ago I went back to school to become a Massage Therapist...
Massage School and Beyond
I graduated with honours from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2010. While in school I successfully completed the Spinal Active Release Technique/ART course(I did not maintain certification). Post graduation I have taken courses in deep tissue massage, sports massage, acupuncture, cupping, and prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal massage. I have been working as a Massage Therapist for 7 years and practising Acupuncture for 3. Over this time I have treated the elderly, young elite level athletes, OHL hockey players, and expecting mothers. I have treated in my office, in the clients home or nursing home, in hospital, and on site during athletic events. I look forward to using my experience to help you achieve your goals.
